Day 1 Arrival
- Your incredible journey up the Northern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro begins with anticipation. Upon arrival, our friendly driver will greet you at the airport, handle your luggage, and transport you to your hotel in Moshi. After settling in, you'll attend an orientation session with our expert team leaders, who will provide essential details about your route and offer advice for a successful trek. Your hiking gear will be thoroughly inspected and adjusted if necessary. Spend the rest of the day preparing for your life-changing adventure.
Day 2 Arusha to Machame Camp
- To streamline the itinerary to six days, we’ll skip the overnight stay in Karanga Valley and trek directly from Barranco Huts to Barafu Huts in a single day. Accompanied by experienced mountain guides, chefs, and porters, the journey begins through a cypress plantation within the montane forest. Keep an eye out for Kilimanjaro’s diverse wildlife, including various birds and colobus monkeys. The hike typically spans 3 to 4 hours, covering approximately 6.5 km, with an elevation gain from 1,800 m (5,900 ft) to 2,600 m (8,400 ft) to ensure gradual acclimatization in preparation for the final ascent to the summit.
Day 3 Shira Plateau

After breakfast, we continue our hike through the forest at a leisurely pace, taking in the stunning scenery of the moorlands. Enjoy spectacular views of Kibo Peak as we trek.

- Overnight Altitude: ~3,810 m (12,500 ft)
Day 4 Barranco Camp

Today is a long yet rewarding day focused on acclimatization as we climb high and sleep low. We’ll hike to Lava Tower (~4,600 m or ~15,190 ft) for lunch before descending to Barranco Valley. For those with energy, and if time and weather permit, we may scramble up the Lava Tower itself. The scenery is fantastic as we pass through different ecological zones of the mountain.

- Overnight Altitude: ~3,973 m (13,044 ft)
Day 5 Karanga Camp

Today, we’ll continue acclimatizing to prepare for the summit push. We will ascend the steep Barranco Wall, descending several ridges and valleys before arriving at Karanga Camp. There may be time for an afternoon acclimatization hike.

- Overnight Altitude: ~3,996 m (13,106 ft)
Day 6 Barafu Camp

Today, we’ll complete our circuit and arrive at Barafu Camp, our final camp before the summit. The route includes ups and downs along ridges and valleys. Enjoy an early supper, then get some rest before waking at around 11:00 PM to begin the summit ascent.

- Overnight Altitude: ~4,672 m (15,331 ft)
Day 7 Summit and Mweka Camp

Start hiking around midnight, using your headlamps to guide you slowly up to Stella Point and the summit. Due to the altitude, it’s important to hike slowly and dress warmly against the cold. After celebrating with photos at the summit, we will descend to Mweka Camp.
- Hiking Duration: 6-7 hours ascent to the summit, followed by 6-9 hours of descent
- Summit Altitude: ~5,895 m (19,341 ft)
- Overnight Altitude: ~3,100 m (10,171 ft)
Day 8 Mweka Park Gate

We will make the final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we’ll enjoy lunch and say farewell to our mountain crew before exiting Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. We’ll then drive back to Arusha for a hot shower and a celebratory dinner.
